Documents Requiring Action
Managing other people is highly rewarding and demanding, and the transition from front line employee to front line manager - and leader - is a particular challenge. Supervisors in the 21st century will be challenged by a dynamic, shifting and shrinking workforce, and traditional management styles are not as successful with the new workforce generation as the "leader" or "coaching" styles of management. It is important that we continue to effectively train our supervisors and managers to handle the needs of a diverse employee population.
A Management Academy is held each year for newly-promoted, newly hired and long-tenured supervisors/managers which covers a variety of knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies required of supervisors in Alachua County. This is the 9th graduating class.
