The attached employment contract implements the Board's motion to offer employment to Betty M. Baker as County Manager.
The attached employment contract between the Board of County Commissioners and Betty M. Baker provides for the appointment of Betty M. Baker as County Manager on July 16, 2013. The contract provides for Betty Baker to serve as the County Manager on an at-will status. The agreement can be terminated by the Board with a prior notice period of 30 days. Ms. Baker must give the Board 60 days notice if she decides to resign as County Manager. The Board agrees to pay Betty Baker a salary of $160,000.00 per year, a deferred compensation contribution of 5% of her salary, term life insurance of $250,000.00, and a $450.00 car allowance. The other benefits to the manager are the same as provided to all other county employees. If the Board terminates Ms. Baker’s employment as County Manager prior to November 30, 2014, the County will pay a lump sum equal to 20 weeks base salary and vacation and sick leave payouts available to all Board employees and the cost of 16 weeks of health insurance coverage.
